Megan garcia

Megan is an LA girlie who is timeless and elegant. She often has to explain why she chose to relocate to the Midwest instead of going to a school in California. I have always admired her confidence in simply following God’s leading in her life.

Her design needed to feel grounded and timeless and so I combined elements from the 1915 and 1917 yearbooks to make her design.

I asked Megan a few questions about her experience at Olivet and this is what she had to say -

What made you feel like you belong at Olivet -

What has made me feel like I belong here at Olivet is the incredible sense of community that has been welcoming since the moment I transferred in two years ago. It was the peers and professors reaching out and making time to get coffee or a meal, the authentic conversations, and genuine connections that have made me feel connected in this community.

What is your favorite memory at Olivet:

My favorite memory at Olivet has to be during my first year of being an RA and co-hosting a Galantines Day party for the residents on my floor. That night we dressed up, had a charcuterie board competition, played games, and went on a spontaneous night adventure to Perry to “work out” in our dresses. It was a carefree unforgettable night that I was grateful to be a part of and help create.

What has made me feel like I belong here at Olivet is the incredible sense of community that has been welcoming since the moment i transferred in two years ago.

Is there a person that has impacted you and how:

My event planning Professor Yvonne Chalfant has made a memorable impact on my Olivet experience as she encouraged me in my education and in my walk with God during my first semester as a transfer student. I believe it was her grace, encouraging words, and intentional prayers that got me through the rough transition. She truly made me feel like I belonged here.
